FAQ - About My Session

How much is my session?

Watch your mail for specials and discounts. Prices vary by school. If you have questions about your session cost, please contact us.

What should I wear for my yearbook photo?

If your school requires a formal tuxedo or velvet drape, we provide both. To avoid dressing room waiting times, ladies can wear a tank top under the drape, and gentlemen a collarless shirt.
If your school requires Sunday Best:
Ladies should wear a nice blouse for your yearbook photo. There should be no visible graphics on your shirt. Low-cut tops, spaghetti straps, and tube tops are prohibited.
Gentlemen, please wear or bring a nice dress shirt, coat and tie, in your chosen color, for your yearbook photo. If you school requires Cap & Gown: We provide cap, gowns, and tassles in your school's colors. Make sure your hair is the way you like it. Some photos will be taken not wearing the cap. We have NHS stoles if needed. If you have cords or sashes to wear with your gown, you are welcome to bring them. Class rings and necklaces are welcome too.

What should I bring or wear for my personal outfits?

  • Long sleeves and solid colors help keep the focus on you!
  • A mix of casual and formal outfits.
  • Matching shoes and socks for full-length poses.
  • Accessories and props. Examples include: letter jackets, uniforms, class ring, pets and props that reflect who you are and how you like to spend your free time.
  • Several extra outfits. While you may not wear every outfit, it is good to have several on hand.
  • Come make-up and hair ready, but bring supplies for touch-ups between outfits.
  • One friend or parent to assist you.

What about glasses?

If you wear glasses regularly, wear them during the photo shoot. However, glasses sometimes cause distortions, reflections, and elimination of detail in the eye area of your portraits. We recommend that a pair of empty frames be borrowed from an optician, or have the lenses removed from your own glasses. This is a much more natural look.
If that is not possible, we will make every attempt to minimize the glare and reflection from your lenses.

What about my appearance?

  • Check your outfits for wrinkles and place them in a garment bag.
  • Remove chiped nail polish.
  • Gentlemen, shave the night before.
  • Limit your exposure to the sun a few days before your photo session to avoid sunburns or tan lines.
  • Avoid getting a new hairstyle or cut right before your session. Instead, select a comfortable style you know looks good.
  • Make sure to get a good night's sleep.
Just before your portrait appointment:
  • Do your hair and makeup before you arrive.
  • Apply concealer and powder to minimize any blemishes and then stop worrying!
  • Portrait retouching can eliminate small blemishes on your final order.

What can I expect at my photo session?

  • Once you've checked in with the customer service representative at the front desk or check in station, you are ready to experience a portrait session that is ALL ABOUT YOU.
  • You may interact with one photographer only or several different photographers for different portrait styles.
  • You hold the complete attention of your photographer.
  • We'll have posing and background ideas, but don't hesitate to ask questions or express what YOU WANT.
  • Expect some poses to feel a little awkward, but TRUST YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER to know what looks great in a finished portrait.
  • Most importantly, relax and HAVE FUN!
